A proposal was made to alter the description of Physics 50:750:335: “In addition to exposing students to the underlying science of the technology, the course will provide students with experience in both designing items suitable for printing and seeing these through to their successful fabrication.”

The Political Science department’s proposed lab courses, each for 0 credit, is in response to the new General Education requirements to satisfy the cross-cutting categories.  All departments will be submitting like courses for approval.

A discussion ensued about how the cross-cutting categories will be linked to the courses and how will students register (for the course or the lab)?  The procedure is still to be worked out, but it will be modeled after Psychology courses and labs.  The departments/chairs will be charged with monitoring that labs are linked appropriately to courses and following the objectives of the courses.

All courses were approved unanimously by voice vote.

NOTE:  Jennifer Thiel will contact the Registrar’s Office about loading onto Degree Navigator all newly approved courses for the Master Course List.  Department Chairs are encouraged to follow up with the Registrar and Advising to confirm courses have been added, edited, or removed.

  1. NEW Business: A motion was made regarding the PTL contract negotiations:  “The Camden Faculty Senate urges Chancellor Haddon to go to the central administration to help with the speedy and fair resolution of the PTL contract.”   The motion was seconded and approved unanimously by voice vote.
